Leeds Beckett #VoteTrees

Leeds Beckett Students’ Union is committed to being sustainable, living within our means environmentally and improving the environment.

For every student who votes in this year’s Leadership Election, we will commit £1 to environmental projects and tree planting in the Leeds area.

Why are we doing this?

The Leadership Elections are one of the most important events in the university calendar each year. They allow you to choose who you want to represent your views, opinions and interests whilst you study at Leeds Beckett. The elected Full-time Officers and Community Leaders contribute to some of the biggest decisions made at Leeds Beckett University and therefore it’s essential that as many students cast a vote as possible to ensure that they represent you and your voice.

In 2020, students at Leeds Beckett voted for the Students’ Union to work with our University to explore and implement rewilding opportunities across the University estate and work with the City Council in the wider Beckett Park area.

So, this year, Leeds Beckett SU wish to promote participation in our democracy as a public good; an act of responsible participation in your student experience and the impact of students in society that everyone should feel duty bound to contribute to. By voting in the LBSU Leadership Elections students at Leeds Beckett will contribute to the improvement and sustainability of the environment in which we all live, study, work and play and for those who do so in the future.
