Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, expand your skillset, and help those in need. Whilst there may be fewer opportunities to volunteer in person this year, we've been working hard to ensure there's still plenty you can get involved in.
"Volunteer from Home” is our new programme of opportunities that you can do from your bed, sofa, garden, or even the loo...💩 It could involve anything from writing children's books to helping with national research. You do not need to go through an application or complete any training to register for these opportunities and there's no long-term commitment.
The Students’ Union will be continuing to support students to find relevant and safe volunteering opportunities to help develop skills and experience while making a positive contribution to the community at the same time. We will be running our ‘Volunteer from Home’ programme, as well as sourcing opportunities that can be done outdoors, or safely indoors, subject to risk assessment and adherence to current government guidelines. We hope that our Food Bank, Zero Waste initiative, Ecosoup, and Student-led Allotment projects will also be able to operate within these guidelines.
