Things to do this June in Leeds

Leeds

Whether you're looking for some last minute things to do before leaving Leeds or are planning to stay over the summer, there's something for everyone in Leeds this June. We've compiled everything we recommend getting involved in, so you don't have to!

Take a Day Trip to Knaresborough for The Bed Race

Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, student train tickets from Leeds, Burley Park or Headingley

Saturday 13th June, from 10:30am

The Great Knaresborough Bed Race takes place every year across the gorgeous back drop of Knaresborough and is a pageant of decorated beds, passengers and runners, combined with a gruelling athletic contest around a 2.4 mile course. We recommend taking a picnic and sitting along the river or grabbing some fish and chips (just watch out for the birds). It's the perfect way to experience the spirit of Yorkshire, maybe for the first or last time!

Watch the World Cup across the City

From 11th June

There will be matches screened in all corners of Leeds, so what better way to find a new favourite spot? Get ahead and start planning your outfits to wear your countries colours and cheer them on wherever you watch. Make sure to look out for your friends and drinks while watching across the city!

Celebrate Pride Month

Although Leeds Pride Festival isn't until July, Pride month is the full duration of June so it's the perfect time to start celebrating. Whether you read some LGBTQ+ literature, watch a film or spend time listening and understanding LGBTQ+ experiences, it's super easy to celebrate in Leeds. We recommend checking out Sasha LaPointe's book 'ThunderSong' and the film 'Will & Harper'. Plus what better time to start planning an outfit or two for the Pride Festival.

Head to Headingley Stadium for the Cricket

Headingley Stadium, Headingley

It's not exactly common to have a world-renowned cricket stadium on your stadium, so why not make the most of it by catching a cricket match this June? There's lots of fixtures and you can save some extra money with a student ticket!

Check out all the fictures and tickets here!

Stay Active on Woodhouse Moor

Woodhouse Moor

Every Saturday at 9am

If you're looking for something to get you out in the nice weather, then head down to the Woodhouse Moor (Hyde Park) park run. Whether you're chasing a PB or just looking for a wholesome morning activity, everyone is invited! Don't forget to sign up beforehand and grab a coffee and a pastry from Coffee on the Crescent with the rest of the runners!
