After a long, dormant summer, the Leeds Beckett Spoken Word Society is BACK for our first speakeasy of this academic year, and we want YOU to come and perform!

For the first time in the 26/27 academic year, the Spoken Word Society are going to meet and perform!

Whether you like to compose poetry, write short stories, tell jokes, or sing songs you've written, we want YOU to come and perform. Grab a mic, get on stage, and show us your creative side in a safe, positive enviornment of people just as eager to perform as you!

It doesn't matter if you've never read outloud before, or if you're doing a promotion tour for a book you've published, we want to hear what you've got to say. There's no topic too broad or narrow so if your niche is family or even fruits and veggies, show us your stuff!

And if reading truely isn't your style, we LOVE enthusiastic audiences. Performences like these would be nothing without the support of friends, family, or those who just like to listen! So come along, bring a mate, bring your mum, and show some support.

Tickets are available on our page over on the student union webside for non-members, but the event is completely FREE to anyone holding a society membership!

Admission to an event is at all times subject to any terms, conditions or rules of the Promoter and the venue operator. You must also adhere to the Promoter or venue operator’s specific terms of entry. If you do not comply with any Promoter or venue terms, conditions or rules then the Promoter or venue operator may refuse admission or require you or other ticket holders to leave the venue and you will not be entitled to a refund.
