Be in charge and make a difference decorative icon

Fed up of issues at university? So are we. There are tons of ways you can get involved at Leeds Beckett Students' Union to make the changes you want to see.

Our Community Organising structure lets you be in charge of what you think should work differently. You can join our team of Student Community Organisers, work with students across Leeds Beckett, listen what they need - then take it up with the people in charge to make it happen.

If you're frustrated on your course, and want to make sure your voice is heard - you can become a Course Rep and take your feedback directly to the university itself.

If you'd like even more leadership experience - you can be in charge of the SU! Our Officer Team is elected every year, and work to campaign on changes for the SU as a whole. There are two Officer postions - one Undergraduate and one Postgraduate, both work full time in a salaried role. Leadership Elections happen every year in Semester two. Keep an eye out for when the dates go live next year.

We know that that your uni course isn't the be-all and end all of being a student. Many people need to work alongside studying, and work experience is hugely valuable for opening doors and opportunities both at uni and after graduation. Leeds Beckett Students' Union has a huge range of flexible student roles available - from work at the Hive (our LBSU bar & social space), through to event support, media sales, marketing, content creation and more. Our Student Community Organiser roles are also paid part-time positions, and give you valuable network-building and organising experience.

Job roles go up consistently throughout the year on our Jobs Portal. Keep an eye out over on our Jobs Portal Page for the latest vacancies & opportunities: Leeds Beckett Students' Union Jobs Portal Page

University isn't just for study - you also need to have fun! We know the importance of being able to find like-minded people at uni - especially for people from a minoritised experience. Leeds Beckett Students' Union has a wide range of Student Groups for different communities - including Global Majority students, Women, LGBTQIA+, Faith-based groups and many more. There are also a number of recreational societies available to join, all based around different hobbies, interests and topics.

Not only can joining a student group help you meet new people - you can also get involved with trips away, group socials, days and nights out. Check out the Student Groups page to find out the latest: Leeds Beckett Students' Union | Student Groups
