What is Freshers Week?
Freshers Week is your chance to kick off the new academic year, meet new people and discover everything student life at Leeds Beckett has to offer! Whether you’re new to Leeds Beckett or returning for another year, Freshers Week is for everyone! Leeds Beckett Students’ Union (LBSU) is hosting a full week of Freshers Fairs, socials, activities, nights out and plenty of opportunities to get involved.
When is Freshers Week?
The Official Leeds Beckett Freshers Week takes place from Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 2026, with events happening across City and Headingley campus and around Leeds. Our Freshers Fairs are free to attend, and you don't need a wristband for entry. There are also Welcome activities and club nights happening before and after the main week, so there’s plenty to get involved with throughout September.

Why go to a Freshers Fair?
Discover everything student life at Beckett has to offer! The LBSU Freshers Fairs are your chance to meet societies and communities, sign up to a sport teams, discover ways to get involved with your Students’ Union, find work and volunteering opportunities and pick up plenty of freebies along the way.
LBSU will be hosting a fair every day during Freshers Week. Monday 21 September will be on Headingley Campus in the Sports Arena and Tuesday 22 September to Friday 25 September will be on City Campus in the Portland Building. You really don't want to miss it, it's the best way to start the year!
Official Freshers Club Nights
Ready for a night out? LBSU is once again partnering with Voodoo Events, their trusted nightlife partner for over 15 years, to bring you the official Leeds Beckett Freshers nightlife programme. The Official Freshers Wristband gives you access to a line-up of club nights running from 20–27 September. Be aware of unofficial Freshers events and wristbands being promoted online.

Freshers is just the beginning!
Freshers might kick off the year, but LBSU is here throughout your time at Beckett.Find your people through societies and student communities, make your voice heard through campaigns or by becoming a Course Rep, get free and independent support from the LBSU Advice Service, attend events throughout the year or visit The Hive at City Campus.
