Advonet provides statutory and nonstatutory advocacy across Leeds.  We also provide volunteer-led advocacy. 

We aim to:

  • Increase inclusion and challenge where needed
  • Demonstrate integrity and accountability
  • Build alliances with marginalised communities
  • Open to challenge but also celebrate success

  • Citizen's Advocate Volunteer

    Citizen's Advocate volunteers, support people with a learning disability to have their voice heard and their rights upheld. The...

    Each volunteer must attend our volunteer induction.  This includes the following 3 free  sessions:

    Advonet Volunteer Induction

    Learning Disability Awareness 

    Citizen's Advocacy Induction.

    Times and dates are flexible and can be daytime or evening.

    Further free training opportunities are available

    Volunteers are matched carefully with the person they will support.

    Volunteers are supported by a paid coordinator who will provide on going support.

    All reasonable expenses will be paid.

    This is an opportunity that will suit anyone who has an interest in,  or experience of Learning Disabilities.  Also students with an interest in people’s rights and supporting those that are not heard to have a voice.
