Welcome to the Art Hostel – the first social enterprise in the UK providing affordable accommodation created by artists. 

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

• General help in day-to-day running of the Art Hostel
• General housekeeping, cleaning and hands-on practical work
• Offering hospitality and care to guests, and most importantly a very friendly welcome! ? Dealing with bookings online, on the phone or in person
• Help to organise/promote/run events within the hostel
• General admin work, including cash handling, responding to emails, helping with content & pictures for social media

What we expect from you: You should be friendly and welcoming - customer care experience would be useful & local knowledge is invaluable!

What you can expect from us: We hope that this placement will provide our volunteers with excellent & invaluable experience of the hospitality & arts world. Experience for students & artists is a crucial part of their development, in a sector where industry related skills & knowledge are as important as qualifications.

We can reimburse travel & lunch expenses up to the cost of £5 each per day for a full 8 hour shift. It is also a chance to be part of a small, tight knit team who all take care of one another whilst working hard & showing our guests what Leeds is all about
