  • Literature Volunteer

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

Do you know your Jane Eyre from your Pride & Prejudice? Then you might be just the person we’re looking...

    What Will You Be Doing?

You will be working alongside companions and members of the retail team, sorting donated books and literature and displaying them for sale. This will involve:

    • Sorting saleable books from rag items
    • Preparing books for display
    • Filtering premium or antique items for our online sales team
    • Creating eye-catching, themed displays on our shopfloor

We recognise that not all our volunteers will have all these skills, however full training will be provided where required.

So, if you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to help make a difference to our companions’ lives, we would love to hear from you!

    Why Volunteer For Us?

Emmaus Leeds is a charity with a difference; we are a community of up to 29 formerly homeless men and women (known as companions), staff members and volunteers working together to end homelessness. In exchange for volunteering in our social enterprise, companions are provided with accommodation, food and support as they rebuild their lives.

As a volunteer, you will become a key part of this community and contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation – not to mention free lunch and bus fares!
