The West Yorkshire Community Chaplaincy Project - WYCCP Resettlement Service - aims to create a better society for us all by working alongside people who have been in prison to help them achieve settled and productive lives back in our community.

We begin working with people inside prison and this help can continue for many months post-release with them and their families. Our team of dedicated full time staff are assisted by a committed team of volunteers who are vital in providing both practical and emotional assistance to ex-prisoners as they settle back into the community.

The people we work with are doing well and we have excellent success rates. Based on over 8 years of monitoring figures we expect that 68% of the men who receive our support in the community will not have returned to prison one year from release.

References - Volunteers may request a reference from the volunteer programme manager after 6 months of volunteering.

Expenses - We value our volunteers and want to ensure that there are no barriers to volunteer involvement. All volunteers will have their travel and other agreed expenses reimbursed. In order to claim expenses, an expense claim form, receipts (if applicable), and proof of volunteering activity (signature in the visitor book, case notes, etc) must be completed and submitted to the volunteer programme manager within three months of the volunteering activity.
