St Gemma’s is the largest hospice in Yorkshire, providing the best possible care and quality of life for local people with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. It’s a friendly, warm and safe place at the heart of the local community with a large range of expert services to support patients, their families and friends.
St Gemma’s is not just a building – the majority of our patients are supported in the place they want to stay – often their own homes.
All our services are free of charge to patients, families and carers but are not free to provide. We rely on donations, as well as gifts left in Wills, fundraising initiatives and our chain of charity shops.
As an event charity partner, St Gemma’s Hospice needs volunteers to steward along the Yorkshire Marathon route in York on Sunday 20th October 2019. You will be in amongst the fantastic atmosphere of the day, cheering on runners including our Team St Gemma’s participants. We are charged for unused stewarding places so your support is greatly appreciated. We need up to 20 volunteers. The day will be from 7:30am to 3pm (times may vary depending on location).
Application deadline: 30-09-2019
