Connect Beckett Volunteers// VOLUNTEER FROM HOME

Details Hide[-]

With more and more students opting to stay in their home City for the next academic year we would like to offer a unique volunteering opportunity where you can gain valuable skills whilst creating communities of students from Leeds Beckett in your own hometown.

When you register an interest in the role we will contact you to arrange an informal chat to determine a few things including;

  • What City you would like to be a “Connect Beckett Volunteer”
  • Why you would like to be involved
  • Ideas for events that you would like to do

Volunteers will need to be;

  • Committed to regular communications with your network and setting up events virtually and eventually in person.
  • Good listeners as you may have members in your network that may need to be signposted to facilities in the University e.g. Wellbeing Services or the Advice Team.
  • IT Skills for virtual meetups
  • Experience running events. When physical volunteering resumes you may want to plan a trip to a coffee shop, museum or another point of cultural interest.
  • Volunteers will also need a positive attitude and an aptitude for patience. It may take a few meetings before you can grow your communities

How we help you;

  • One to One support and catch ups
  • Various training opportunities will be available
  • Promotion of your events through the LBSU website as well as through our various other channels of communication and promotion.
  • Volunteer expenses

If you would like to get involved then click the “apply” button to be contacted to get more information about the role.
