- Who we are -
We're the official academic community for Leeds Beckett's computing and engineering courses, run by student volunteers to help you make the most of your time here. Membership is free and open to all.

- What we do -
We exist to bring students together, providing a platform to meet others and to collaborate. We're always open to new members and feedback - if you have any ideas for the community feel free to get in touch! Several university staff members are also part of the community, to provide academic support.

- How can I get involved? -
Our primary point of contact is the community Discord server, which you can join by clicking here. To keep things secure, you'll need to automatically verify your LBU student email to gain access to the server. If you're a prospective student, a student at another institution or an LBU staff member you'll need to verify manually with a member of the committee - just DM one of us and we'll be happy to help. We also have an Instagram account.
We also run a variety of in-person events on and off campus, as well as virtual events on Discord. By joining the server you'll be kept up to date with all our latest announcements.
If enrolled on one of our covered courses you should automatically be a member here on the LBSU website, but if not you can also join as a full or associate member.

FAQs

- How are you different to the Ethical Hacking Society (EHS)?

Our community and EHS have a significant membership overlap, and we'd encourage you to join both. As a society, EHS is primarily funded by membership fees collected from students, while as a community we are primarily funded by the students' union directly.

- How is your leadership elected?

We aren't! Unlike society committee members, community leaders are volunteers rather than directly elected. If you'd be interested in helping run the community, please get in touch with the SU for more information.
