Updates on LBSU’s Priority Campaigns

Check out all the progress on this year's priority campaigns!

CampaignsCommunity OrganisingOfficers

At our Student Delegate Assembly last term, students voted on which campaigns to prioritise for the 2025/26 academic year. The priority campaigns are Time, Work & Pathways to Employability and the Campus Belonging Campaign.

Your Officers, Student Community Organisers and student leaders have been working to progress these campaigns and they’ll continue to be a focus for the rest of the year!

Here’s a quick look at what campaigners have been up to so far this term:

Work & Employment Campaign

This campaign is all about making work opportunities—part-time jobs, placements, and graduate roles—clearer, fairer, and easier to access for students!

  • What’s happening now?
Your student leaders are working to improve transparency around placements, including clearer information on the University website by July 2026. They’re also pushing for better, more accessible job listings on MyHub so students can make more informed decisions.
  • What’s next?
Over the next 6–12 months, organisers are campaigning for a “one student to one placement” model as well as encouraging the University to take a more realistic and sustainable approach to recruitment.
  • Long-term, they’re working to develop a regional graduate and placement programme with local employers to create clearer pathways into careers!

Campus Belonging Campaign

Your other priority campaign for the 2025/26 academic year, this campaign focuses on making sure every student feels included, represented, and connected on campus.

  • What’s happening now?
The team is in a listening phase—speaking to students across campus, engaging different with lots of different groups, and working with partners like the Athletic Union to reach even more communities to get their input.
  • What’s next?
The campaign team is working on publishing their listening report which will bring together student feedback to shape the campaign’s priorities and influence change across the University. They’re also organising social media promotion for the campaign to raise awareness of different spaces on campus for students!

Want to make change happen on campus? Vote!

If you’re excited about our campaigns or have ideas for change yourself, there are loads of opportunities to get involved, but voting is the easiest! Our Student Elections are right around the corner, and this is a quick and simple way for you to directly influence the direction of your Union.
