The Power of Mindfulness: How Mindfulness Affects Metamemory Accuracy

Description: In this study, you will take part in a 30–45-minute session in the psychology lab exploring the relationship between mindfulness and metamemory accuracy. After completing a brief demographic questionnaire and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), you will listen to an audio excerpt. You will then complete a memory task involving the study of a word list, an estimate of recall ability, and a recall attempt. The study will end with a debrief.

Duration: 30-45 minutes

Age range: 18-30 years

Eligibility: Aged between 18 and 30 years old who do not engage in regular mindfulness or meditation practices. If you have only attempted mindfulness once or twice, you will still be eligible. However, if you have been diagnosed with a neurological or psychiatric disorder, kindly refrain from taking part in this study.
