All student groups with vacant committee roles will be running by-elections this autumn to fill vacant committee roles for the 2026/27 academic year.

• The election will be visible on the site from 14 September to 9 October 2026, with nominations opening on 21 September at 12:00 and manifesto submissions due by 2 October at 23:59.
• Polling opens on 5 October at 12:00, using a ranked‑preference voting system. Only members of each group can stand or vote.
• These by-elections are essential for ensuring each group has a functioning committee for the year ahead. Recreational societies must have all four core roles (President, Secretary, Treasurer and fourth role) elected; this includes those already in post for this academic year.
• If these remain unfilled after the by-election, the society will be unable to continue operating for the academic year. This is your opportunity to step up, support your community, and help keep your group active and thriving.
• Please inform the rest of your student group about the byelection and encourage people to stand.
• Candidates can self-nominate via your student group webpage on the website.
