Meet your 2022/23 leadership team

The Leadership Elections are one of the biggest events in the SU calendar, requiring huge effort from the whole staff team to make them happen. A huge thanks goes to all staff and Officers who took time out of their usual jobs to encourage students to nominate themselves, to vote for their next leaders or to provide support to candidates.

After weeks of preparation and 3 days of busy campaigning, the dust has settled, and your leaders have been chosen. 1,096 students voted in these elections, with a total of 4,209 votes!

32 students were campaigning this year. Of those candidates:

• 63% were women,

• 19% identified as LGBT+,

• 56% identified as Black, Asian or another minoritised ethnicity,

• 41% of candidates were international students,

• 66% were mature students,

• 41% were in postgrad studies,

• While 22% of candidates identified as disabled

But before we go on to reveal this year’s successful candidates, we would like to first congratulate everyone who took part in this election. Participating in an election takes a lot of time, dedication and passion. Congratulations!
