Students are raising money for the Crohn's and Colitis Charity

Bite of Leeds is a food and arts market with a bar and live music held at Left Bank on Sunday 1st May during the bank holiday weekend, .

We are a group of students studying BA Hons Events Management at Leeds Beckett University and for our second year we are putting on an event to raise money and awareness for a charity of our choice.

Bite of Leeds is a food and arts market with a bar and live music held at Left Bank on the bank holiday weekend, Sunday 1st May. We are open from 12-6pm to the public with free entry, foods from all over the world and suiting all dietaries and various arts and crafts. We really wanted to support small, local Leeds businesses especially after the last couple of years they’ve had.

The charity we have chosen to support is Crohn’s and Colitis UK. We are a group of 8 and at least half of the members in our team have a connection to the cause.

For myself, my mum has Ulcerative Colitis and had got quite ill with it. It is now manageable and there are some lifestyle changes that she needs to be aware of. There are also 2 other group members with cousins who are affected by the illness and another group member who had a close connection with someone who sadly passed away with multiple illness’s, Crohn’s and Colitis being one of these.

Due to multiple personal connections to the cause, as an event team we have poured our hearts and souls into this event and making it special for everyone involved.

Bite of Leeds aims to raise money for the charity, awareness for the cause and educate on the illness, and hopes that every little penny donated can help us to find a better cure and treatment process for Cronh’s and Colitis.

We would love to see as many people there this bank holiday, head down for a coffee and some cake or a gin and pizza in the sun and browse the works of local artists and food businesses showing support all around.
