A – Antics
The Ultimate Social Experience, an action packed Wednesday night, it offers a unique blend of music, gaming, and entertainment, all under one incredible roof. It’s not one to be missed!
B – Belonging
The Community Belonging & Inclusive Spaces campaign aims to break down social and cultural barriers to underrepresentation, poor communication, and physical accessibility issue, the barriers that affect everyone and create spaces where every student feels welcome, supported, and able to thrive. C – Corn Exchange
Looking for somewhere that isn't the lecture theatres, your kitchen or the pub, wander over to the Corn Exchange. Full of independent shops, cute cafes and unique places to explore, it's the perfect spot for a day out in Leeds.

D – Dales
One thing about studying in Leeds? The Yorkshire Dales are right on your doorstep. City life can be a bit much so it makes for a great escape when you need a break from campus life. Grab some fresh air and make the most out of your weekends.
E – Elland Road
We’re all Leeds aren’t we…is a phrase you will likely hear regularly. Watch Leeds United in the premier league this season and if football has never been your thing? Well now you have a new team to support.
F – Festivals
Obviously the infamous Leeds Fest is not one to miss, but there are so many other festivals to get involved with. Day festivals at Beaverworks, or get involved with our Diwali events in the first term and meet new people. Our Holi event is never one to miss and offers a great community vibe.
G – Gigs
The Hive to venues across the city, Leeds has a huge music scene. Whether you love indie, R&B, rock or something completely different, there’s always an artist waiting to become your new favourite.

H – Hive
Your Students’ Union home away from home. Grab some food between lectures, meet up with your friends, attend events or just taking a break from studying, The Hive is your space on campus.

I – Inclusivity
Here at the SU inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. From accessible events and inclusive societies and campaigns that support students, we’re very proud to celebrate the diverse community we have in Beckett.
J – James Graham Building
Headingley students, this building will quickly become your second home. It’s also home to the newest study spot on campus, the loft, equipped with PCs and workstations with laptop dock and dual monitors. It’s perfect for group work or solo study!
K – Kirkstall Abbey
One of Leeds' most iconic landmarks and the perfect spot for a sunny afternoon. Throughout the year, the Abbey also hosts festivals, outdoor cinema screenings and community events, making it well worth adding to your Leeds bucket list.
L – Leslie Silver Building
For City Campus students, the Leslie Silver Building will quickly become a regular during deadlines and exam season. With plenty of study spaces, it’s the perfect place to lock in when assignments start piling up.
M – MyBeckett
Your online uni hub for everything from your timetable to important updates. Check it regularly!

N – Nine AMs
The ultimate test of your university survival skills. Can you make it to 9am, or will your bed win the battle? Spoiler: the bed usually wins.
O – Otley Run
15 pubs in fancy dress, what’s not to like? Except the queues to get in, the queues for the bar, the queues for the toilets and the fact you likely won’t remember your name at the end. It’s a staple for any Leeds student and will take all your student loan in one day.
P – Panini of the Day
Are you really a Beckett student without wolfing down at least 1 panini a week from The Hive? Grab a panini before lectures for £3.25, because there’s nothing worse than sitting through a 2 hour lecture with your stomach making whale noises at the back of the theatre.
Q – Quarter Zips
If you’re planning to be a Wednesday sports regular, make sure to pack your best quarter zip and walk into Taps like you own the place. Actually bring a second for any Invades Races events you’re probably going to attend. Or if a quarter zip isn't to your taste, shop our merch!
R – Representation
Your Undergraduate and Postgraduate Officers are elected by students to make positive change at Beckett. From improving campus life to leading campaigns and working with the University, they're here to turn student feedback into real action.
S – Societies
The easiest way to meet people who share your interests. There are over 100 societies/communities, not to mention the university has over 80 teams. Whether it’s culture, sport, hobbies or academics, there’s a society for you.

T – Town Street
Headingley’s Town Street is somewhere many Beckett students become familiar with during their time at uni. Whether you’re living nearby or just exploring the area, it’s a classic part of the Headingley student experience.
U – Union
Your Students’ Union is here to help you make the most of university life. Meet new people, explore student communities, join societies and discover events throughout the year #MakeStudentsLivesBetter

V- Varsity
Rep your colours #Bleedpurple, learn the chants or two but don’t forget to support our teams as they take on Uni every year. With matches throughout the week and the finale at Headingley Stadium, Varsity is one of Beckett’s biggest traditions.
W – What’s On?

X – Xtra Opportunities
There’s always something new to try at uni. Freshers is a great place to start, give it a go and try out a new sport, society or community. Say yes to opportunities and make your experience your own.
