Round 5 of the fastest championship in Yorkshire (and slightly beyond, occasionally)
It's beginning to heat up
We're heading to Tockwith for the first time in years for round 5 of our internal championship! Firmly into the second half of the season, and with a new championship leader in our Pro class, the title fights are really heating up now - with no more than a 2 point gap to the leader across all three classes! As a tight, somewhat twisty track, Tockwith is a new challenge for our drivers and with the potential for bad weather, anything could happen!
Format
As with most of our outdoor rounds, we will be running a mini-enduro event featuring 15 minutes of qualifying and a 45 minute race. Each class will race concurently, but will be scored seperately, meaning drivers are only racing others within their own class. Drivers are awarded points based on their finishing postion in the race, with the podium finishers earning 14, 12 and 10 points respectively, and 4th place and onwards earning one point less per position starting at 8 for P4. There is an extra point available for both pole position and the fastest lap in the race per class.
Transport
The society will provide transport to and from the circuit, ensuring you arrive at the right place at the right time (usually - you know who you are ;) ). Drivers will be allocated to you and then contact you regarding where and when you'll be picked up. While the current track time is TBC, we expect the journey to the circuit to take about 40 minutes. Drivers may, although not always, ask for a small fuel contribution. We ask that you kindly respect this as, ultimately, they are doing you and the society a favour by volunteering to take karters to and from the track.
Price
As internals is a self-funded championship, each driver has to pay for themselves. For Tockwith, this will be $60/pp, not withstanding any fuel contributions as described above.
