Please note that this event has unfortunately been cancelled due to staff illness, and will be rearranged.
We are a peers-led group of Neurodivergent students and Alumni of Leeds Beckett who are all about supporting our Neurodivergent community.
We want to help students find the support they need by sign posting to local services and being a peer support space. We have strong links with the charity Leeds Autism AIM which provide support for those who live in Leeds, we can share resources and knowledge that may be valuable to new students, and those that are preparing to finish their courses.
Bridging that gap between university and entering the world of work is extremely important to us, we can support your journey by helping you feel confident, learn some skills, be introduced to reasonable adjustments and access to work. We also can look to find ways to make university facilities more accessible and inclusive for Neurodivergent folk such as the university sports and gym facilities.
We aim to be a social safe space and host events in the future such as Neurodivergent Makers fairs, where you will be able to have a stall to promote and sell your work and meet other Neurodivergent makers. As a peer-led group we are interested in hearing your ideas on these events and have your input on how to make them even more accessible. Maybe you have a good idea for an event that we should put on?
You are welcome to come along to this meeting to find out more about what our group is about, what we can offer and how you can get involved.
This meeting will take place at City Campus, Calverley Building, Room CL212 (ask at the SU Welcome Desk in Portland for directions if unsure of the location). There will also be an online meeting on Thursday 14 December if you would prefer to meet virtually.
