Who am I?

Hey, Meg here your current Academic Experience Officer, since you elected me last March, I have worked tirelessly to make your lives better. I have a strong track record for representing your needs, implementing innovative projects alongside proving no disability should stand in your way, so to anyone who doesn’t believe it is possible trust me it can be especially with me here supporting you! I’m once again asking for your support (Promise it is the last time) you haven’t regretted it yet so why would you start now?

Why Me?

I'm confident, accountable, and hardworking with a versatile approach to representing your views making me the best candidate for re-election. Within my role I sit on high level boards and committees feeding into the wider university structures and elevate issues to the relevant university and union staff, alongside working closely with them on a range of projects to make your lives better, with the overall aim of empowering you to be the creator of your own experience whilst here at university. Moreover, I have always ensured that your voice is heard, developed, and launched an accessibility toolbox to support disabled students alongside implementing Accelerate a programme to give business students the chance to network with their peers from across the school and improve their interpersonal skills. Finally, and most importantly I work closely with you the most important people in this remit (yes you! reading this right here right now) to ensure Beckett is the best place to study!

Endorsement from Jaya

Jaya states that being part of Accelerate is one of the most incredible opportunities that she has ever been given and she is Voting Meg number 1 for Academic Experience Officer so be more Jaya and vote to re-elect Meg!

What will I do for you?

If you Re-elect me….

1. I will extend the Accelerate programme to the School of Arts, Social Sciences and Health. This will form part of my work on connecting courses due to its current track record I believe it is key that I branch this out to another 3 schools to engage with more students, but fear not there will be other aspects to engage in as I will extend the work to include more networking opportunities for all students and an increased focus on developing your employability skills ready for the world of work.

 2. I will campaign to ensure academia is accessible for all students ensuring that all courses and areas of your academic experience are inclusive of your needs from learning resources e.g., lecture slides and assignments to blended learning.

3.  I will work closely with international students to celebrate their identity within the curriculum working with staff and schools, international students, and student leaders to elevate voices. Finally, I will continue supporting students, course reps and student leaders in all aspects of their academic experience.

Like what you see?  you know what to do!
