Hi everyone, 

My name is Anthony Nwaobi. I am reaching out to you to let you that I am running for the position of an NUS Delegate Representative

I have taken this decison to contest after careful consideration of how I can make a difference to the university and the students at large whom I aim to represent. I see the myraid of problems that most of us home and abroad are currently passing through, from mental health strain to increasing cost of living across board, as it is already affecting our education and finances.

I am a vocal public speaker and Firstaid trainer, I am not scared to raise my voice to make sure each and everyone's opinion is heard – in the most polite and charismatic way possible, of course and save lives ‎while I'm at it. 

I am a graduate of Environmental Biology and have a masters in Disaster Risk Management with over 8 years as an instructor under both the American Heart Association and the American Safety and Health Institute.

My experience spans from my involvement in school unionism in my undergraduate days. I honestly understand it is not the same here, but  I am confident that I can build upon the knowledge I garnered and take pride in the difference and impact I made. I believe I can make quite a similar difference to the Leeds Beckett Student’s Union.

I truly believe in the student movement, what it represents and where it is headed. I want to stand in a position where it is possible to ensure your rights, your beliefs and your goals.
 
This issue is important because as we have seen in the past years if those placed in leadership positions have a different aim to that of their electorates then there would be a disconnect and a grave disenfranchise of everyone who hoped for a change
 
Overall, I look forward to being solely dedicated to representing you and improving the lives of students through my work and activism. 

We deserve to have fewer anxieties and to be able to make the best of our time and experiences here at Leeds Beckett University
