Morufat Ajoke Matti

My name is Morufat, I am studying Graduate MBA in Leeds Business school and contesting for the position of Welfare Officer in the forthcoming Student Union Election. I have a great passion in spreading happiness and if elected making people happy would become an obligation

MY MAJOR CONCENTRATION WILL BE ON MENTAL HEALTH

According to Maslow, 1970, “Basic needs must be achieved before higher needs are fulfilled”. From experience I know that a happy student will produce great result, and vice versa.

If I am elected as your new welfare officer; I will be working on student’s mental health.

What does it feel like when you relax and spend more time on group study with peers while we take care of your toddlers? I will be re-introducing childcare support in the school to encourage students to spend more time to read at school.

Are you still looking for an accommodation or thinking of changing your present accommodation? I will see to it that all student secure accommodation by improving the guarantor scheme organised by the school for house letting in Leeds and its immediate environ to enable renting ease.

Why worry about post study work? I will strive to ensure you secure jobs after completing their study by encouraging more companies are introduced into the school’s career hub, to make sure you are gainfully employed immediately after study.

When last did you exercise? I will encourage periodic social and exercising activities to reduce academic stress, boredom, depression and promoting good health.

In other for me to do all of this and many more, please be available to vote me in as your new Welfare Officer 2023/2024 during the voting week (between 6th - 8th of MARCH).
