Why do you vote for me?

My name is Rupinder Kaur and I am a student of M.sc management. I stand in the university election for the role of event and activities officer.

I am an enthusiastic person and also a student of Leed Becketts Business school with leadership and management skills.

I would like to work to improve the social media aspect of communications at LBU. The union can continue to do great things, with effective communications events becoming bigger and better. So, students should vote me for as the best candidate.

Why I am the best person for the role?

In the recent past, I played a few key roles in the education industry and currently pursuing my master's in management, it’s makes me the best-fit candidate for the role of an event officer. I can best utilize my networking and leadership skills to shape student unions better and make students' life easy at University. Also, I am an international student and hence have an experience with multi-cultures with diversified social systems and very much knowledge of the problems/issues domestic and international students can face during their studies at university.

I have the confidence to work in the favour of students because, in my home country, I have the experience of communicating with the committee or the vice-chancellor of the university in the favor of students.

My experience.

I have already worked in student coordinator, and administrator positions at different educational bodies and have a Master of Philosophy in political science which gives me more leads on working for this role.

If I were elected, I would aim to work on

Work on events and communications for academic issues awareness and make the students feel more connected to the university.

I realized that students do not feel very much connected with the university as much as they suppose to, due to many reasons, as an international student, even I myself faced many problems during my studies, which most students face, such as delays in the results, exam mode changes in the middle of the sessions without confirmation from students, and changes in passing criteria in terms. Moreover, students have to wait for a long time to get permission for many approvals such as ethical approval for projects or any other permissions from the university, which harms studies. Furthermore, sometimes the International student didn’t get their BRP on time post arrived in the UK.

I would like to be a chain between the university and students where I will be working on one side with university management to give my feedback to students another side I will be organizing events and workshops to make the student aware of the university's way of working and culture. Effectively communicating the changes well ahead will make the student more efficient and active in their studies.
