About Us

Bramley Elderly Action are a charity that operate two neighbourhood network schemes (BEA and OWLS), aiming to improve the lives of older adults in the area through social action.

Bramley Elderly Action & Older Wiser Local Seniors

Bramley Elderly Action (BEA) is a community based charity and company limited by guarantee that was set up in 1994 by local people, for local people. We work with older people in Bramley, Swinnow and parts of Stanningley. We also have a community shop, UpBEAT to support the delivery of our work. At OWLS we work to reduce loneliness and social isolation for seniors living in Burley, Hyde Park, Little Woodhouse, Headingley and Kirkstall. We help them to stay healthy and independent and enjoy life to the fullest.

Our vision is simple. We want all older people in our catchment areas to know who we are, and consider becoming a member. Our mission is to provide friendship, support and opportunities for older people, leading to improved wellbeing and happiness.

We recognise the difference that volunteers make to our members, and the difference giving back can mean to our volunteers. We want to create meaningful, welcoming and enjoyable volunteer experience for all of our volunteers.
