About Us

Leeds Asylum Seekers’ Support Network (LASSN) help refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants feel safe, supported and empowered to rebuild their lives in Leeds.

Leeds Asylum Seekers’ Support Network (LASSN) is a registered charity set up in 1999 to respond to the pressing unmet needs of refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants living in Leeds - many of whom have limited English, experience acute isolation, poor mental health, and prolonged uncertainty over their asylum claim.

LASSN helps more than 300 volunteers to support 400 asylum seekers, refugees and migrants each year, through various projects. All of our projects are about sharing a welcome and extending kindness to people that are new to Leeds. We create opportunities for people in Leeds to:

- show friendship and solidarity

- learn more about the reality of seeking asylum, and refuge

- hold on to the hope that tomorrow can be different from today
