Hello everyone, I am Yash Khanna, and currently studying MBA at Leeds Beckett university. This is my second master’s in UK, before this I studied MSc Air Transport Management. Studying second masters in the UK gives me more understanding on student life. I am working for NHS, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charity and I also play global ambassador role in the university, so I get to meet lot many students during these events and get to hear their perception and point of view regarding those events and how they feel about it.

I started my course at Leeds Beckett during the pandemic, and due to the covid restrictions, all the students have missed onto almost the entire university life.  I deeply understand how important university experience is, where we built moments to cherish forever in our life.

As we missed lots of Events and activities during the Covid restrictions - This year is to bounce back with we have missed. If elected I plan to carry out more events where my focus will be on diversity at the University, bringing every one of you together through pool of events and will also work on improving clear communication method about these events through various digital platforms, so that students don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to make new memories with new friends.

I would as well look into increasing the support for societies at the university. Ensuring societies are fully aware of and have the equal opportunities to take advantage of what the union has to offer. Also, making sure that society members, committees and reps have a full understanding of the union’s democratic structure. rewarding voluntary staff at LBSU through building on the recognisation award. I would love to see every single society to be able to grow in members, funding and in what they feel they can achieve and accomplish with the support of myself and other SU officers.
