Youth Leader// VOLUNTEER FROM HOME

Are you passionate about empowering young people to learn new skills? Do you want to help provide fantastic, confidence-building opportunities to young people?

Central Yorkshire Scouts need people like you to help run their Scout groups.

Whatever your skillset, lend a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare, and we promise you’ll get more out than you put in. We are only able to change lives because people like you step up and help out. Whether you can give a couple of hours a month, or help out every week, there will be a task for you. We are looking for people to lead sessions, help out with running online meetings, look after finances or provide administration support to the group.

Volunteering with The Scouts is a great way to gain experience and skills to boost your CV and job applications. We provide full training, all you need to do is show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life.

You can volunteer with the age range of your choice:

  • Beavers (6-8yrs)
  • Cubs (8-10.5yrs)
  • Scouts (10.5-14yrs)
  • Explorers (14-17yrs)

Get in touch to find out more and to visit a session! We will find a group that is local to you and fits with your schedule. If you have any questions, please contact elizabeth.wells@scouts.org.uk.

While the national lockdown is in place, all Scout meetings are taking place online. Volunteers will not have to attend face-to-face sessions until they feel safe and comfortable to do so.

I can confirm that our opportunities have been risk assessed to provide mitigation and controls for Covid-19 and that our organisation takes full responsibility for the enforcement of risk assessments and safety of our volunteers.
