Could you help young people have a summer of adventure they will remember for the rest of their lives?  By volunteering for CampYHA 2019, you will make a huge impact on our campers who are all children of RAF service families.

 

Our summer camps are fun and vibrant environment that give young people the opportunity to develop and gain independence through outdoor activities and adventure.  Your role will be to inspire and encourage campers to make the most of their summer camp experience.

 

You can volunteer for one or more of our 1-week camps running throughout Late July and August.

 

You will also need to be available to attend a training course on 5-7 July at YHA Edale in Derbyshire.

 

We have seven camps that will take place as follows:

 

  • 27 July-2 Aug - YHA Ironbridge Coalbrookdale, Shropshire
  • 3-9 Aug - YHA Ironbridge Coalbrookdale, Shropshire
  • 10-16 Aug - YHA Edale, Derbyshire
  • 10-16 Aug - YHA St Briavels, Gloucestershire
  • 17-23 Aug- YHA Edale, Derbyshire
  • 17-23 Aug - YHA St Briavels, Gloucestershire
  • 17-23 Aug - YHA Ravenstor, Derbyshire

 

CampYHA 2019 Volunteers receive free accommodation, free meals and we provide help with travel expenses of up to £150 (for travel to camp and training combined).

Summer Camp Volunteer Team Leader

Key responsibilities

Volunteer Team Leaders accompany campers during the daytime activities and encourage them to make the most of the exciting outdoor challenges on offer (plus you can have a go too!). Team Leaders are the key to ensuring campers have a summer to remember. Many campers are experiencing their first stay away from home and you will provide essential pastoral care. This will include making sure campers are sleeping and eating and are prepared for the action-packed day ahead.
