St Gemma’s is the largest hospice in Yorkshire, providing the best possible care and quality of life for local people with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. It’s a friendly, warm and safe place at the heart of the local community with a large range of expert services to support patients, their families and friends.
St Gemma’s is not just a building – the majority of our patients are supported in the place they want to stay – often their own homes.
All our services are free of charge to patients, families and carers but are not free to provide. We rely on donations, as well as gifts left in Wills, fundraising initiatives and our chain of charity shops.
We are very excited to announce that this year we’re introducing a new night-time sponsored walk, Light Up Leeds.
Join hundreds of walkers on Saturday 28th September to Light Up the city and raise vital funds for St Gemma’s. The walk starts from The Arena on Leeds Beckett University's Headingley Campus. There is a choice of 6-mile or 12-mile routes, which are suitable for all abilities. Registration on the day is from 7.30pm and you will set off at 9pm with your fellow walkers.
We’re looking for volunteers to marshal the route, register walkers and man stalls on the night
