More water coolers to be available across both Headingley and City Campus. In my experience and feedback from my peers, there are limited water stations available to students and in several cases we have had to buy a bottle of water which isn't sustainable for the environment.
A further example is Macaulay Hall has no water stations so students usually have to fill up using the bathroom taps which isnt very hygienic.
Having more water stations that are available and assessible could result in less plastic waste and ensuring students stay hydrated.
UPDATE: Your Education Officer has taken this idea forward to discuss with the University. They would like to put more water coolers into the libraries, but are constrained by the very essential matter of the plumbing! The library team have been working with Estates on this for quite some time, and have installed them into all the places that are possible with the current infrastructure in the buildings. Once the University is in a position of being able to do redevelopment in the libraries in the next few years we will make sure this is something on the list. It’s particularly difficult at Headingley where the very old building isn’t flexible.
