Leeds Beckett Students’ Union is about to undertake its largest research project ever all with the intention of finding out what you want from us in the future. Our Strategic Plan is used to ensure our work is focused on the right student issues, that we remain relevant and engaging and continue to make students' lives better.
Why are we doing it?
For our new Strategic Plan, we are turning to you to place students at the centre of its creation and listen to all you have to say. Our ‘Sounds Like A Plan’ survey has launched and we will be talking to our Democratic Forums, hosting focus groups, staff workshops and interviews with our stakeholders, all to continue to support, engage and represent you in the best way. Over the last three years, we have changed our democratic structures, increased our volunteering opportunities and student-led societies, renovated the Hives to provide a better social space, provided job opportunities and won money back for students. But now we want to set more ambitious plans for the future.
What's the plan?
From now until the Christmas break we will be undertaking extensive research with the student body, our staff team and our stakeholders to gain insight into the student experience, your lifestyle, concerns, worries and wants as well as ideas for our future direction.
After Christmas, we will transform our research into themes that reflect the priorities and ideas of our students.
All the feedback collected from students, staff, and stakeholders will be transformed into our next Strategic Plan. We will use your thoughts and opinions to create our mission, vision and values and the plan the steps we want to take to achieve the best student experience for all at Leeds Beckett University.
Once the plan is written, it will be up on our website for you to read.
The final step is letting you decide. In April you will have the chance to tell us whether LBSUs Strategic Plan reflects what you want from us and if we are heading in the right direction. More details on this will be available soon!
