Impact Report 2016/17

We are proud to announce the release of our 2016/17 Impact Report. The report highlights just some of the areas that Leeds Beckett Students' Union (SU) has played a part in order to make students' lives better. Some of the key headlines include winning back money for students, supporting course reps, supporting volunteers in the community, and making sure we play a big part in students' social calendars.

LBSU has also been working hard on representing your academic interests. Here are some of the things we've done for you/in the course of doing:

  • An SU organised school forum secured £2,500 investment into core texts for Health and Community Studies courses.
  • Your SU trained over 500 course reps in 2017, delivering improvements to your course and University experience.
  • Your SU Exec Team successfully fought for increased lecture capture, resulting in a 50% increase.
  • Your SU campaigned to abolish library fines, resulting in a much fairer system being introduced.
  • Your SU successfully campaigned for your exams to start no earlier than 09:30, so less stress!
  • Yoru SU helped set up and support 16 course-based societies so you can get more out of your University experience.
  • Your VP Education is fighting for a higher standard of feedback on your submitted work.
  • Your VP Education is working to get your module information released earlier.
