Student Safety

Tuesday 16-03-2021 - 13:42

We, Leeds Beckett Students’ Union, stand in solidarity with any student who has ever felt unsafe.

We have worked to ensure you have not only a safe campus, but a safe city, from lobbying the council to implement safety features in Headingley as well as supporting zero tolerance to all forms of Sexual Harassment and discrimination. We will continue to represent and support students, lobbying those with privilege and power to implement effective change.

Our next steps as your SU include:

  • Organising a meeting with Leeds City Council to amplify your voices
  • Meeting with the University, to actively work towards a safer university
  • We want to listen to your experiences and suggestions to make you feel safer.

Want to join our drop-in sessions? Register here!

We’ve also created a feedback form for any students who are unable to attend the sessions above or may feel uncomfortable speaking in person. Please do feel free to provide feedback via this form with any thoughts and we’ll take these forwards to the University leadership. You can fill in the form anonymously here.

If any student had been impacted and wishes to speak with someone, please do get in touch with the University's Wellbeing Service. You can also be involved with the Zero Tolerance Network and find further information and support here.

With love and solidarity,

Your Students’ Union
