LBSU are proud to announce a win for BAME students in the University!

BAME Ambassadors will now have a seat at School Committees alongside a School Rep. The School Committee is one of the highest of its kind in the University, where the Dean, senior academic staff and students are present. They are well placed to make changes to the quality and standards of the school's teaching, the continuous improvement and enhancement of students' experiences, and overseeing development of the University's strategic framework relating to each school.

Thanks to this amazing new proposal being approved, the committee will now include a School Rep and BAME Ambassador, doubling the amount of student representation on the committee and ensuring that issues specific to BAME students are heard.

This amazing win comes from ongoing work by your Exec Officers Ro Sewell and Charlie Hind, who are constantly fighting for better BAME representation and to close the Black Attainment Gap.

If you would like to apply for a BAME role in the SU, we would love to hear from you. Click the link here to see how you can get involved.
