Ayisha Beevi for Welfare Officer

In the pursuit of a vibrant and supportive student community, I present myself, Ayisha Beevi, as your candidate for Welfare Officer.

As an international student born and raised in Qatar with roots in India, I bring a unique perspective that celebrates diversity and embraces inclusivity. My experiences have taught me the importance of understanding and respecting different cultures and backgrounds.

Vision: Elevating Student Wellbeing

Beyond the basics, my manifesto is a pledge to elevate the student experience in Leeds. Here's how:

1. Comprehensive Support Initiatives:

In order to improve student wellness at our university, I will lead a multimodal strategy. This includes raising awareness of available university support through an intensive campaign utilizing innovative methods and social platforms. Additionally, I will implement tailored mental health programs addressing diverse student needs, offering stress management courses, mindfulness sessions, and targeted support groups. Furthermore, I aim to establish comprehensive wellbeing hubs across campus, serving as spaces for relaxation, information, and community building.

2. Empowering Student Voices:
Your experiences matter. I will establish regular forums and surveys to understand your needs better. Together, we will amplify your voices, shaping welfare initiatives that genuinely address the challenges faced by the Leeds Beckett student community.

My experience as a course representative and event organizer has equipped me with invaluable skills and insights that will undoubtedly enhance my effectiveness as a Welfare Officer. Serving as a course representative, I developed strong communication and advocacy skills, representing the interests and concerns of my peers to faculty and administration. This experience honed my ability to listen empathetically, mediate conflicts, and implement positive changes to enhance student experiences.

Furthermore, hosting multiple club events has provided me with firsthand knowledge of the diverse needs and interests of students. From coordinating logistics to fostering a welcoming atmosphere, I have learned the importance of inclusivity, collaboration, and creativity in building vibrant and supportive communities. These experiences have instilled in me a deep passion for student welfare and a commitment to fostering an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Vote Ayisha Beevi for Welfare Officer. Your wellbeing is not just a priority – it's a commitment to a brighter and more fulfilling student experience.
