MORUFAT’S MANIFESTO

NUS LIBERATION CONFERENCE REPRESENTATIVE

As a seasoned leader, devoted mother, and international representative, I bring a distinct combination of experience, passion, and dedication to the position of NUS Liberation Conference Representative. With a track record of success in leading diverse teams and a dedication to generating practical outcomes, I am well-prepared to meet today's pressing concerns. My manifesto stands out as evidence of my consistent commitment to advance the interests of marginalised communities and effecting meaningful change within the NUS organisation.

Championing Diversity and Inclusion:

As a Black mother and international representative, I personally know the value of diversity and inclusion. I agree to advocate for policies and programmes that promote fairness and representation within the NUS organisation. This includes aggressively supporting the formation of a significant and inclusive name change for the Black Students' Campaign into Liberation Conference. I will strive relentlessly to ensure that everyone's voice is heard and valued within the NUS community.

Navigating political landscapes:

With the upcoming General Election in 2024, NUS representatives must be prepared to negotiate complex political environments and argue for students' interests at all levels of government. With my significant expertise in leadership and advocacy, I will fight relentlessly to ensure that student voices are heard in the political arena. This involves advocating for policies that support affordable education, student well-being, and social justice.

Promoting Collaboration and Accountability:

As an NUS Liberation Conference Representative, I understand the value of encouraging collaboration and accountability among national officials, leaders, and stakeholders. I will prioritise transparency and open communication to make democratic decisions that benefit all students. I will also hold myself and others accountable for preserving the values of diversity, equity, and social justice within the NUS organisation.

Elevating Student Voices:

Above all, I am dedicated to elevating student voices and ensuring that their concerns shape the agenda of the NUS Liberation Conference. I will actively seek feedback from students with varied backgrounds and experiences to inform my advocacy and decision-making processes. By elevating student voices, we can build a more inclusive and equitable NUS that truly represents all students' needs and goals.

In a nutshell, my manifesto is a vision of inclusive leadership, unwavering advocacy, and verifiable outcomes. As an NUS Liberation Conference Representative, I will offer enthusiasm, devotion, and experience to the table, fighting relentlessly to advance the interests of marginalised populations and effect good change within the NUS organisation. Together, we can shape a more equal and inclusive future for all students.
