Vision for Academic Excellence

My vision for the Academic experience at Leeds Beckett University revolves around fostering an inclusive and empowering learning environment where every student feels supported, engaged, and able to thrive. To achieve this vision, I propose the following initiatives:

1. Strengthening Student Representation: Empowering Course Representatives and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes by providing comprehensive training and support and actively soliciting feedback from students through surveys and focus groups.
2. Enhanced Transport Facilities: Increasing bus frequency from student accommodation to the university campus to improve accessibility and convenience for all students.
3. Career Readiness Support: Launching workshops to support students in becoming career-ready, including resume building, interview preparation, and aptitude test guidance, to enhance their employability and future success.
4. Enhanced Communication Channels: Establishing robust communication channels between students, faculty, and university administration through regular open forums, online feedback platforms, and transparent communication regarding academic policies and decisions.
5. Promoting Inclusivity and Accessibility: Working to ensure that the academic experience is accessible to all students, addressing barriers to learning, advocating for accommodations and support services, and promoting diversity and inclusion in the curriculum.

Qualifications and Experience

With a diverse background in finance, sales, project management, and academic research, I bring a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to this role. My previous roles have honed my communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, which I am eager to apply to advocate for the academic interests of my fellow students.

I recognize several pressing issues affecting students' academic experiences, including usage of resources and facilities, student support services, assessment and feedback, career guidance, inclusivity and diversity. I am committed to addressing these issues through targeted initiatives and collaborative efforts with students, faculty, and university stakeholders.

Proposed Solutions

To address these issues, I propose a range of solutions and initiatives, including resource assessments, expanded support services, workshops, curriculum reviews, financial advocacy campaigns, and more.
