Introduction:

Dear fellow students,

I, Mohammad Shahrukh Jahiruddin Shaikh, am running for the position of National Conference Representative of the National Union of Students. As a fresher, I bring a fresh perspective and a passionate commitment to represent your interests at the national level. I firmly believe that our voices should be heard, and our concerns should be addressed. Together, we can make a difference and shape the future of education in our nation.

1. Enhancing Student Welfare:

a) Mental Health Support: I will advocate for increased mental health support services on campuses nationwide, ensuring every student has access to professional help when needed.

b) Financial Aid: I will work towards increasing financial aid and scholarships, making education accessible to all, regardless of their socio-economic background.

c) Accommodation: I will strive to improve the quality and affordability of student accommodation options, ensuring safe and comfortable living conditions for all students.

 

2. Academic Excellence:

a) Curriculum Diversification: I will push for a more diverse and inclusive curriculum, promoting the inclusion of underrepresented voices and perspectives.

b) Student-Staff Collaboration: I will advocate for increased student involvement in decision-making processes, encouraging collaboration between students and academic staff to improve the educational experience.

c) Accessible Education: I will work towards creating an inclusive learning environment by promoting accessibility features in classrooms and online platforms, catering to students with disabilities.

 

3. Equity and Inclusion:

a) Combatting Discrimination: I will fight against all forms of discrimination on campuses, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, religion, or disability. I will advocate for the implementation of comprehensive anti-discrimination policies and awareness campaigns.

b) International Student Support: I will ensure that international students receive adequate support, including assistance with visas, housing, and integration into the campus community.

c) LGBTQ+ Rights: I will actively work towards promoting LGBTQ+ rights on campuses, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

 

4. Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility:

a) Renewable Energy: I will advocate for the implementation of renewable energy sources on campuses, reducing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainability.

b) Waste Reduction: I will work towards reducing waste and promoting recycling initiatives, encouraging sustainable practices among students and staff.

c) Education on Environmental Issues: I will push for the inclusion of environmental education in the curriculum, empowering students with the knowledge and skills to address climate change.
