Dear Fellow Students,

Lets learn, enjoy and grow together.

As a candidate for Students' Union President, this manifesto isn't about churning out cogs for the machine. We're not here for cookie-cutter MBAs and one-size-fits-all MSCs. But from bachelor's to beyond, we foster individuality, envisioning business education as a hub for cultivating visionary entrepreneurs, ethical leaders, and conscience-driven changemakers.

My Vision: Inspire unity, amplify voices, advocate for student empowerment.

My four pillars underpin this vision:

1. Education and Wellbeing: We understand the burden of rising fees, the need for accessible mental health support, and inclusive learning environments.

I pledge to:

  • Advocate for fair fees: Work with admins to support underprivileged students offered fee benefits to excel academically, and explore scholarships.
  • Ensure accessible mental health support: Fight for expanded hours, diverse counselor options, and reduce stigma.
  • Fairer course assignments and faculty support: Prioritize student feedback for better teaching effectiveness and learning impact assessments.

2. Student Experience and Employability: We're committed to enhancing your time at LBU and career prospects.

I'll work towards:

  • Providing enhanced career guidance: Workshops, tours, and mentorship for your career path. Find internships, build resumes, and network.
  • Organizing affordable social activities: Celebrate diversity, build skills, and make connections with inclusive events.
  • Improving accommodation standards: Advocate for better living conditions, affordable rent, maintenance, accessible amenities.

3. Social Equality and Unified Community: We stand for diversity, inclusion, and sustainability.

I aim to:

  • Foster a diverse and inclusive campus: We'll celebrate cultural differences, LGBTQ+ rights, and combat all forms of discrimination.
  • Promote sustainable practices: We'll partner with LBU to implement eco-friendly initiatives, waste reduction programs, and responsible sourcing.

4. Student Voice and Representation: We prioritize student engagement and transparent decision-making.

I'll achieve this by:

  • Improving communication channels: We'll establish regular consultations with student representatives and provide timely updates on decisions.
  • Increasing participation: We'll organize forums, meetings, and online engagement platforms to gather student input.

But how will we achieve these goals? Concrete action, not empty promises, is our commitment. We propose:

  • Regular surveys: Gathering feedback to understand your needs and concerns.
  • Open dialogue meetings: Creating spaces for genuine discussions and brainstorming solutions.
  • Advocacy: Partnering with LBU, student services, and relevant NGOs to push for change.
  • Innovative solutions: Exploring cost-cutting measures for fees, partnering with local businesses for career programs, and creating sustainability initiatives that generate savings.

As Malala Yousafzai famously said, "One child, one teacher, one pen, and one book can change the world." Let's embrace that spirit of transformation and be the catalysts for change, united in our pursuit of a better future. Inspired by JFK's timeless words, "Ask not what your university can do for you, but what together we can do for our university," Together, we can create a university experience that is equitable, inclusive, and enriching for all students.

Vote for me, and together, let's transform LBU into a hub of learning, creativity, student empowerment and work together to build a brighter future for LBU!
