Our societies are run by student committees and cover almost every interest you can think of! Spanning everything from music to politics, from faith-based to course-based groups, they're a great way to get involved in the things you love or find a new passion. If you can't find what you're looking for, why not start your own?
Joining a society is one of the best ways to make new friends who are like-minded and, as cliché as it sounds, they could be a friend for life.
Networking is a great way to kick start your future career. Joining a society can be great a way to meet people who can help you with your development and provide opportunities which go beyond those of the lecture theatre and university.
Societies give you the opportunity to learn and develop skills from teamwork to events planning to budget management to leadership as well as many other transferrable skills. These skills can give you an extra edge when looking for future career opportunities.
What better time than coming to university than to try something new? By joining a society, not only can you indulge in activities you enjoy, but you can also try something you may never have tried before!
Joining a society can help you develop interpersonal skills with people from a wide range of backgrounds and improve your confidence with other people.
If you are a LBSU staff member, LBU staff member, a LISC student, or under certain circumstances a student from another university you are able to join our societies as an Associate member. To set up your membership please fill out this form.
